Establishment of a Southern Blot for a Target Gene

Short Description
This service offers the establishment of a Southern blot for the screening or confirmation of gene targeted ES cells at the ATGF. It is required that the Southern blot strategy and probe design is discussed in the Mouse Makers Club. The ordering scientist will provide us with up to three probes for testing. We will test two probes on genomic DNA from the respective ES cell line. In case of failure we will test one additional probe. The cost of this service is CHF 2`200,-. Particularly expensive restriction enzymes will be charged separately.

Prerequisites
• The Southern blot strategy has been approved by the Mouse Makers Club
• gel purified probe(s) at a concentration >30 ng/µl
• a completely filled out request form

Important
We normally try to process your request as soon as they arrive. In case of a backlog of requests, the date of DNA receipt and the number of requests submitted by individual groups will determine the sequence in which the projects are carried out.
